Stylish Social Tip #6: How to Grow Your Instagram Audience

Instagram is one of my favorite platforms because it's so visual, easy to use & interact with others- even when you're short on time.  It's a great return on your time investment. Since links can't be embedded in instagram post- it's better for brand awareness than driving traffic. Though, I do have some great tips whether you're a brand or a blog for growing your instagram audience. So, get excited!

Instagram tips for brands + bloggers:
1. "Like" pictures that you're tagged in to let people know you're engaged with them
2. Take the extra step to comment on an instagram post- it helps you stand out in a sea of 'likes"
3. Use hashtags on your posts -check out these most popular hashtags or utilize more specific hashtags on an instagram post to link up with a smaller networking group.
4. For bloggers posting an outfit post, tag brands on the image so people can see where each piece is from- and the brand can see that you're giving them some social media love.
5. Spread some positive instagram karma- search a hashtag related to your business (i.e. #socialmedia #smallbiz, #blogger, etc.) or use the "discover" tab of instagram to leave comments & follow other accounts.
6. Ask a friend or peer if you can guest instagram for them for a weekend to help expand your audience- and have them instagram from your handle as well.. win-win!

Social Media is not a one way street! You can't build relationships if you don't make an effort to engage on instagram with other users. If you only push out your own content, you won't see the return you're looking for.

Stylish Social Tip #5: Contact Info

As I mentioned, I was at Go Blog Social last weekend in Kansas City! I was able to listen to a huge variety of speakers from different fields. One of the biggest takeaways from speaker, Better Homes & Gardens Magazine was something so simple, but true. They said often times one of the hardest things as a brand when they're visiting blogs is finding the blogger's contact info... and it's so true!

Thus, their talk inspired Stylish Social Tip #5 .. make it easy for brands & clients to get in touch with you!

LPF Media: Stylish Social Tip #5- Contact Info!

I know how frustrating it is trying to get in contact with a blogger or brand and by the time you spend five minutes searching their websites' pages, you give up. Sometimes we try to hide it away in an "about me" page, or have it as a mail icon rather than written out.

So here's my advice: Have your contact info in a clear & easy to find place (in fact.. have your contact info in many clear & easy to find places on your website). You never know what opportunities you might miss out on if you're too hard to get in touch with!

Website of the Week: Canva

Listen, as a longtime blogger I know how time consuming & complicated trying to navigate photoshop can be. I am all about the websites that can make design simple & beautiful. If you don't want to hire a graphic designer, but want to create beautiful graphics for your blog or business you need to check out Canva.com!

I read a review of the site from Vicky at Small Business Gal & knew I had to check it out. She also has an awesome video tutorial for navigating the site- though I promise it's pretty user friendly! The website gives you the dimensions & some pretty gorgeous custom made templates to design blog graphics, facebook headers, business cards and more. In addition you can add in text, stickers, labels, and background images. It makes for some pretty fun creative projects.

I personally love the ability to drag & drop your website homepage into all kinds of fun technology like ipads, phones & computers, like I've done above. You can really get creative with this site though- think about designing invitations for events, an opt-in for your facebook page. I love checking out the editor's picks for inspiration.

Even though I'm fairly savvy in photoshop, finding this site was so awesome- because it can be a huge timesaver, and I knew I wanted to pass it on! The best part is it's all free (except if you decide to use one of their stock photos in your creation)!

What websites are you loving for your blog or business right now? You know the kind that just make life a little easier (& prettier?) Be sure to share with us!

Stylish Office Art

If you ask me one of the keys to success is an inspiring workspace. A beautiful gallery wall seems to keep you motivated and focused throughout the day. I am partial to motivational quotes & whimsical illustrations.  This girl can't resist a little bit of gold foil and bold color.

I'm sharing nine of my favorite art prints from super talented independent designers. These prints are sure to make your office a little bit more stylish! I'd style them in a gallery wall format grouping a few together.

I love the idea of also being able to support woman business owners and create an inspiring workspace! I seriously can't pick a favorite!

Stylish Social Tip #4 : Fabulous Free Fonts

Stylish #Social Tip: Free Font Resources // LPFMedia.com

One of my absolute favorite resources for making a blog or graphic design project feel extra professional is free fonts. You can seek out a specific font on a mission for a project, or go on a downloading spree to find fonts for any occasion.  For added aesthetic value try pairing two contrasting typography like an italic & serif or bold & thin font.

I've come up with a list of my absolute favorite fonts lately. They're a pretty little mix of bold, script and handwritten styles. I'll also share my favorite resources for free fonts for your projects.

Like I said I'm a bit of a typography nerd. It's sort of embarrassing. I can actually identify them (and  usually do) out in public! But, no shame- my font love is your win, because I have some great resources to share. If you're on the hunt for professional or fun new fonts these are a few of my favorite websites:

One of the best ways to make your brand feel consistent across several blog posts, graphic design projects & social media channels is to choose a few fonts to use throughout your branding. This cohesiveness makes things feel connected and beautiful!
